The United Arab Emirates advanced one place to rank the 22nd globally in the "Best Countries for 2020" index, issued by the US News & World Report network, which measures the performance of 73 countries according to the characteristics and trends that contribute to advancing trade, travel, investment and direct impact in their national economies.
In the subcategories, the emirates topped the classification of emerging countries, which measures the performance of countries in the criteria of economic and political distinction, economic diversification, and dynamism. The UAE ranked 11th in the impact subcategory that depends on elements of military power and international alliances.
As for the entrepreneurship classification, the UAE ranked 23rd in this component, which measures the performance of countries in terms of access to capital, advanced infrastructure, transparency of business practices, skilled workforce, innovation, entrepreneurship, technical expertise and advanced legal frameworks. The UAE also ranked 25th in the quality of life classification.
